Rope will stretch and degrade with time and use. Use Tie Boss supplied rope or Tie Boss approved rope ONLY. All ropes are not made the same way and can stretch, fray or break differently. Tie Boss guarantees performance only with Tie Boss approved rope. Always test a new rope to ensure that Tie Boss Tie Down teeth engage rope and holds without slipping.
Tie Boss Recommends tying a double half hitch under lock tab for extra security during transit or storage.
Always evaluate workload and inspect the Tie Boss and rope before each use. Read enclosed instructions completely before using your Tie Boss. Inspecting and Replacing Rope
Rope will stretch and degrade with time and use. Use Tie Boss supplied rope or Tie Boss approved rope ONLY. All ropes are not made the same way and can stretch, fray or break differently. Tie Boss guarantees performance only with Tie Boss approved rope. Always test a new rope to ensure that Tie Boss Tie Down teeth engage rope and that it holds without slipping.
Thread rope through eye of tail hook and secure with a nonslipping knot in the rope BELOW THE TAIL HOOK. TAIL HOOK SHOULD SLIDE FREELY ON ROPE ABOVE KNOT. See Tie Non-Slipping Knot instructions.
- Attach head hook and tail hook to sturdy locations (separate from load) Select locations that ensure load will be held in place when Tie Boss rope is tightened. Remember a workload secured with Tie Boss Tie Down will only be as strong as to what the hooks are attached.
- TO SET: Pull free rope until desired tension is obtained, then with same tension lower rope into teeth to automatically lock rope into place.
- TO LOCK: Always secure rope by locking it under LOCK Tab. Tie Boss recommends tying a double half hitch under lock tab for extra security during transit or storage.
- TO RELEASE: Before releasing a load, ensure that it will not result in a dangerous shift and that area around is safe. Remove rope from under LOCK Tab. Grip rope and pull with more tension / weight than load and lift it out of teeth at a 45° degree angle, release load by allowing rope to pass through Tie Boss Tie Down.
Lifting Loads with Tie Boss *
- Attach head hook to sturdy location (separate from load). Select locations that will support weight when lifted. Remember a workload secured with Tie Boss Tie Down will only be as strong as to what the hooks are attached.
- Attach tail hook to a sturdy area of load.
- TO SET: Pull free rope until desired tension is obtained. Hold tension and lower rope into teeth to automatically lock rope in place. Tie Boss recommends tying a double half hitch under lock tab for extra security Lduring transit or storage.
- TO LOCK: Always secure rope by locking it under LOCK Tab
- TO RELEASE: Ensure that you are strong enough to support the released workload, that release will not result in a dangerous shift in load and that area below a lifted item is clear. Remove rope from under LOCK Tab. Grip rope and pull with more tension / weight than load and lift it out of teeth at a 45 degree angle, lower/release load by allowing rope to pass through Tie Boss Tie Down.
- When releasing large loads, belay/wrap pull rope around fixed object to control load.
* To Lift Loads Easier add Tie Boss Pulleys
Adding 1 pulley provides a 2 to 1 mechanical advantage (i.e. 100 lbs. feels like 50 lbs). Adding 2 pulleys provides a 3 to 1 mechanical advantage (i.e. 150 lbs. feels like 50 lbs).
- Install Hooks and Rope (see Diagrams 1-3 as shown earlier)
- Ensure rope is long enough. One pulley setup requires rope length = 3 times distance lifted
- Attach head hook to secure location, allowing rope to hang freely (see Diagram 5, A)
- Insert tail hook into hole at open end of Tie Boss Tie Down body (closest to LOCK tab), adjusting tension to form a long hanging loop (see Diagram 5, B)
- With pull rope in locked position, drop pulley onto hanging loop (see Diagram 5, C)
- Pull down on pulley hook, ensuring rope rests into groove of pulley wheel
- Attach weight or item to be lifted onto pulley hook (see Diagram 5, D)
- Install Hooks and Rope (see Diagrams 1-3 as shown earlier)
- Ensure that you have enough rope to thread through two pulleys – 4 times distance being lifted
- Attach head hook to secure location, allowing rope to hang freely
- Insert pulley hook of pulley #1 into hole at open end of Tie Boss Tie Down body (closest to Lock Tab), see Diagram 6, A)
- Adjust tension of rope to form a hanging loop below pulley #1 by looping rope over top of pulley #1, ensuring rope slides into groove of pulley wheel. (see Diagram 6, B)
- With pull rope in locked position , secure tail hook into hook holeat top of pulley #2 and drop pulley #2 into hanging loop (see Diagram 6,C)
- Pull down on lower pulley hook, ensuring rope rests into grooves of both pulley wheels
- Attach weight or item to be lifted onto lower pulley hook (see Diagram 6,D)
How to Secure ATV or Snowmobile on Trailer*
Tie downs shall be attached to the mounting points on the vehicle that are specifically designed for that purpose.
Always use (4) Tie Boss 3/8" Tie Downs - one is each corner. Tie downs shall restrain the vehicle from moving sideways, forward, backward and vertically.

- Use four (4) 3/8" TIE BOSS
- Secure each corner to trailer (See Four Step instructions below)

- Add additional 3/8" Tie Boss across vehicle (anchor point to anchor point)

Four Step Instructions
Step 1:
Attach head hook to anchor point on truck.
Step 2:
Thread tail hook through ATV Rack.
Step 3:
Secure tail hook into hole in Tie Boss body.
Step 4:
Pull rope to tighten.
Step 5:
Repeat on all corners of ATV.

The replacement body (not the rope) is warranted for the balance of the existing warranty. At its option, TIE BOSS may elect to refund the product’s original purchase price if replacement is not practicable.

ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING THOSE OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE LIMITED TO THE DURATION OF THE EXPRESS WARRANTY PROVIDED HEREIN. THIS LIMITED WARRANTY IS THE PURCHASER’S EXCLUSIVE REMEDY, AND LIABILITY FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES UNDER ANY AND ALL WARRANTIES IS EXCLUDED TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

In addition, this warranty does not cover damage from: accident, improper handling (including, but not limited to, damage from use in a corrosive environment or proximity to corrosive materials), usage under extreme conditions which exceed recommended performance specifications, alteration or misuse, vandalism, theft or any other cause beyond TIE BOSS’s control. TIE BOSS is not responsible for damage from failure to follow the manufacturer's instructions. Minor imperfections which do not impair the functioning of the Product are not considered defects and are excluded from coverage.

The Tie Boss products are absolutely as advertised. Easy to use, easy to set up, durable quality, strong and secure. Interestingly, I am also very happy with the re-usable zip ties. I bought them with an �I�ll give them a try� attitude thinking I�d make use of them for something and not only am I finding more uses than I expected but they really helped solve some efficiency challenges by giving me creative new ways to store and access some of my truck tools faster and easier.
